Hello blog; Another Sunday, and a new page of “Drowning in Venice” inked and abundantly splattered. I had quite a go on that one, and it turned out good. This was one of these drawings where in the end you just have to risk the whole thing and engulf the composition and main character into a wash of china ink. It’s random to a large extent and it worked on this version and not so well on another one.

What’s with all these drowning pictures anyway? Well I went through the rinse cycle and nearly drowned several times surfing here in San Francisco so it does bring back some good memories.

Ink and watercolor on paper, 11″ x 17″.
